We watched the events unfold in NY with disbelief -- literal disbelief, because none of us believed what we were seeing on the screen -- the second plane was shown live, hitting the other WTC tower. I remember Bryant Gumbel on CBS telling the technicians to run the tape over, apparently not believing what he had just seen either. I and the several others who had joined us by then were dumbfounded -- there was very little conversation as we stared at the TV while the horrible scene was repeated over and over.
